Product Info
We stamp all of our heads with a TMP number on the intake flange. It’s located where the manifold bolts to the head. If you call us with this number, we can see if we can look it up for you.
Every build is different, so it’s possible. For the most part, you would need to do a Big Bore Kit or get a set of high compression pistons because the chamber gets bigger on our heads when we CNC port them and do the larger valves.
Our pistons will work with other heads as long as the compression ratios work out. Some of our pistons have a 20-degree angle, so the heads would have to be modified. Our M8 pistons are designed to be cut down to achieve any compression ratio you desire, we would just need to know the combustion and thickness of the head gasket you will be using.
No. We make different sized inserts, so you would just need to order a new insert when you upgrade.
No, we currently do not offer an air cleaner for carburetors.
You can take a look at our Cam Spec Sheet here.
Ordering
We have a select few of our bolt-in cams available to purchase online. Otherwise, we like to help our customers make the right choice for their application and riding style, so you need to give us a call to order.
Typically, customers send us their heads and we do the work on them. You would send your product to us and include a Cylinder Head Worksheet with all of your information and what you would like to have done. Once they get here, our shipping department will get it checked in and start a work order for you. That work order then goes to our parts manager; once he gets to your work order, he will give you a call to go over what you would like to do and get you on the schedule from there.
We suggest putting heads and cylinders in individual boxes and then putting those into a larger box. Heads with heads, cylinders with cylinders. Please include a Cylinder Head Worksheet or notes indicating what you are sending us and what you would like to have done. Send your product to 205 Pitts St, Kernersville, NC 27284.
Please send an email to info@tmanperformance.com letting us know what you would like to have done and we will get a quote over to you.
It depends on the situation. Occasionally we do have some product in stock, but typically customers send their product to us to have the work done.
Instructions
If you are using lifters with travel limiters, it will be 2.5 turns. If not, it will be 4 turns.
There is a great video series on our YouTube channel on how we do this and a helpful spec sheet on our Forms page.
It depends on which one you have. If you have the Classic, you will need to remove the nuts on the back of the air cleaner in order to remove the front plate. If you have the Windowed, you will need to remove 4 screws from the front. For instructions on which screws to remove, please see our instruction sheet on our Forms page.
We always recommend checking the leak down and cranking pressure, as well as for wet sumping.
