Milwaukee 8 Cams

The Milwaukee-Eight motorcycle head design is making cam design completely different. When looking at cam specs, you cannot compare traditional cams to these new M8’s – valve size, port size, exhaust port length, port location on the head and combustion chamber shape will all effect the cam design.

Some of the things that can impact your current or future build are compression ratio, riding style and the location where you live. One of the most overlooked questions regarding cam choice is the elevation at which you do most of your riding. A cam choice will vary due to altitude, so compression ratios should be considered because of this variation.

At T-Man, we build our motors off cranking pressure. A stock 117” CVO has around 225-230 CCP at sea level. Our cams are designed for peak performance at these cranking pressures, which results in a performance build that is well mannered and doesn’t lose any of its rideability. This also allows these cams to run on pump gas.

M8 Gear Drive Cams

We are now offering a select few of our M8 cams in gear drive! These cams feature a new and quicker ramp design, which will help maximize cylinder fill on the intake side while minimizing the valve train noise. This will enhance the exhaust openings to give you that pop in the pipe everyone is looking for. These will be offered for the M8-2652, M8-3262, and M8-4059.

  • M8-200

    This cam is our first step in the Milwaukee-Eight cam line. It is a bolt-in cam that will work well with stock compression on the 107” or 114” M8 motors. This cam will produce nice bottom end torque for 2-up riding and will be a noticeable increase in acceleration through the higher RPMs over the stock cam. Designed with a 460 lift, this cam can be run with stock valve springs and will have no valve to piston clearance issues.

  • M8-216

    This is our go-to bolt-in cam for the 114” and 117” motors. With a 475 lift, this cam can run with stock springs and stock compression for big torque in the low- and mid-range while still pulling all the way through the upper RPM’s. This cam performs best at around 225-230 lbs CCP (same CCP as a stock 117”) and works beautifully with a big bore 127”/130” kit for the more aggressive rider.

  • M8-2652

    This cam is a great replacement cam for the STG 4 117” kits and really shines with larger cubic-inch motors. It’s designed to be a good mid-range torque touring cam while still pulling hard through the upper RPM’S. This cam performs best at around 225-230 lbs CCP (same CCP as a stock 117”) and has produced 140+ HP and TQ on pump gas when paired with our head work and big bore kit. Due to the lift, this cam requires upgraded springs. This cam is also available in gear drive as M8-TMAN52G.

  • M8-3262

    The 3262 cam is designed for the customer looking to get big power and torque out of their touring bike. This 590 lift cam will require upgraded springs and with our heads and big bore kit has consistently produced 150+ HP and TQ. The design of this cam allows for an aggressive torque curve that starts early in the RPM’s and continues to pull throughout the powerband while maintaining a well-mannered riding experience in town. This cam is also available in gear drive as M8-TMAN62G.

  • M8-4059

    The 4059 cam is our go-to for the aggressive rider wanting to get the most out of their M8 build. When paired with our Pro Heads and big bore kit, we have produced 150-160 HP and 145-150 TQ on pump gas. This cam works great at 225-230ccp and when paired with the right components, these bikes are still designed for touring. When tuned properly, we have seen 38-40 miles per gallon on certain applications. This cam will give the customer the power they want while maintaining the rideability and dependability our customers expect from T-Man products. This cam is also available in gear drive as M8-TMAN59G.
